Dear Substack Reader. A happy Wednesday to each and everyone of you. As always, thank you for supporting me and my wacky ideas. As some of you may know, I’ve spent a considerable amount of time (and spilled ink) on the ideas of conservatism and libertarianism. My great friend (and former student), Dan Hugger, invited me to join his podcast, Acton Line, sponsored by the Acton Institute, in late June of this year. We talked for a little over 45 minutes about conservatism, populism, and the relationship of one to the other. Please note: my conservatism is not necessarily political, but more cultural, social, literary, and philosophical. Populism, by its very nature, is intensively political. Thus, the two aren’t completely compatible. So, the great question—can conservatism survive in an age of populism. Right or wrong, here’s my take. Please enjoy, Brad
