I need to give Pet Sounds another listen. For some reason I’ve always struggled to get into it. On the Pet Sounds vs. Sgt. Pepper my take has always been: Sgt. Pepper is the better album, but God Only Knows and Wouldn’t It Be Nice are better songs than any single songs on Sgt. Pepper.
Thanks for this, John. I really love both albums, but I turn to Pet Sounds more often. There's just something so perfect about it. Let me know if you give it another listen.
If anyone out there has not seen the documentary movie The Wrecking Crew you've missed an opportunity to see Brian working in the studio with Hal Blaine (drums), Carol Kaye (bass), Glen Campbell (guitar), etc as he brings God Only Knows and Good Vibrations to life. There are shorts out there too. In You Tube search for Brian Crew Pet Sounds
Mike, thanks for this. No, I don't know the documentary. I will definitely check it out. Thanks for your good words and encouragement. Much appreciated!
As soon as I heard the news of his passing, I put this album on. It is quite a pop music achievement.

I’m actually listening through it again this morning!

I'm right behind you Shawn. Thank you Bradley, I think you wrote admirably.
