Brad, have you got a source for Hayek having a confession and Catholic funeral? If not, I'll believe you but might not repeat it to others.

Understood, Marcus. It comes from Father Sirico.

He didn’t have to convert. He was a baptized Catholic. He only needed to go to confession. I spoke with the Austrian economist who was a care giver in his final years. He asked to see a priest, Fr. Josef Schassing, SJ. I spoke with Fr. Scasshing Who confirmed that he was called to see Hayek and presided at his funeral Mass and received a Catholic burial.

As a note to readers upon seeing the Pic of FAH and JP-II, both of these authors can be VERY 📚✍🏼 challenging to comprehend in their writings. I personally find both von Misses and the good bavarian professor Joseph Ratzinger (Benedict XVI) to be more accessible. 🇦🇹🇩🇪🇵🇱

But that's just an okie's view.....

I think it's from the "Road to Serfdom", planning for competition rather than planning for outcomes. Applying the rules [laws] equally for all parties and not making frequent capricious tweeks. Perhaps 'we' could all use some Hayek (and a side of von Misses). 🇦🇹✍🏼⚖️📜 Socialism is a clear and present danger to the Republic.
